The consortium

The EMBRYO consortium is made up by three partners. The Egineering faculty of Mondragon Unibertsitatea is the leader of the project and as an expert in manufacturing and the development of innovative lecturing methodologies participates in the development of the first Manufacturing Kit to be used by the pupils to solve the challenge by assembling and programming a miniature bending press. Together with the secondary schools in the Basque Country area, it will be the responsible of the deployment of the EMBRYO methodology in different secondary schools.

The Institute for Production Engineering and Forming Machines (PtU) of the Technische Universität Darmstadt is the second partner of EMBRYO. As an expert in the sheet metal forming and forging technologies, it will be in charge of the development of manufacturing related lectures and digital nuggets. Together with the secondary schools in the Rhine-Main region, it will be the responsible of the deployment of the EMBRYO methodology in different secondary schools.

The well-known Arduino is the third partner of the consortium. As a developer of free hardware designed for lecturing, Arduino will be in charge of preparing the lectures and digital nuggets to be consumed by the pupils to learn about programming and will participate together with Mondragon Unibertsitatea in the development of the bending press and the manufacturing kit using Arduino electrical components.

The secondary schools that participate in the first year of EMBRYO project are the Ikastolen Elkartea of the Basque Country and the LoreNostrum of the Rhine-Main region.
